This past weekend we saw hundreds of Sandhill Cranes while driving
Highway 26, just before the turn-off to Potholes State Park........that
is a few miles west of Othello. Most were in the fields on the left
side of the road (as we were heading east), but maybe 100 or so took
flight and headed across the highway and landed in the fields to the
right (south) side of the road just as we came by. There were also
cranes in that vicinity on our return trip 2 days later. Keep your eyes
open.
