On a quick trip to attend a meeting in Entiat last night, I dipped on
the Gray-crowned Rosy-finch at both Jameson Lake and Mansfield. There
was a nice flock of mostly Canvasback, Ring-necked Ducks and Northern
Pintail on Jameson Lake. On the way back this morning there was a dozen
Western Bluebirds along Swauk Prairie Road and in the Swauk Cemetary.
The Ravens tattled and revealed to me the perching spot of a Great
Horned Owl in a tall Ponderosa just inside the Swauk Cemetery, but then,
Raven never has been able to keep a secret.
