Hi Tweets,

I've just jumped in the fray here, so I'm a bit behind on the comings and
goings in the birding community of late.

I just started working with the Lakes Stewardship program at King County
DNR, and we have volunteers collecting data on about 50 lakes in King
County. They've been counting birds in a minimal way for the past few
years, but I'd like to see them collect data that would actually be useful
to someone. Most of them are NOT birders, but can most certainly identify
your basic waterfowl.

So my question is: do any of you know of any ongoing studies in King County
that could use weekly counts of waterfowl of some sort on 50 lakes from
urban to rural? I'm thinking something relatively simple like canada goose
counts.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any input!
