We had our first Rufous Hummer of the year as well on Union Hill outside of
Redmond yesterday. This was one week earlier than last year.

Got a call this pm with a report of a hummer seen today in the Mt Wollard
area of Orcas Island. Since we usually only get Rufous Hummingbirds here, I
am assuming that this was what was seen, since this was a second hand report
and species was not specified. Also saw 2 Kestrals today - the first I've
seen on the island in the 6 years I've lived here.
