I just returned from spending a week in Redmond to get away from the snow
for a while. What a cruel joke that was.
Sat. March 16 we birded Montlake in the snow and rain. We managed to find
17 species including the Palm Warbler in the Willows of the pond next to the
parking lot.
Sunday we drove up to the Skagit Valley and managed 41 species in a cold
north wind that made me feel like being home next to the wood stove with a
good book.
Monday I walked around Marymoore Park in a snow storm and managed 21 species
2 hours.
Tuesday saw us drive to Everett for a visit to Spencer's Island and the STP.
It was very slow with 40 of the regular species there.
Wed was just ugly so stayed home.
Thursday walked around Montlake and the islands again and had another slow
day with 35 species.
Friday saw us back at Marymoore where we had only 1 singing Fox Sparrow, not
the abundance Michael had on Wed.
Sat. Back to the snow and ice of Central B.C.
