Hello Tweets,

I just wanted to report on a couple remaining groups of Common Redpolls in the Seattle area. I have seen one group of 9 in my neighborhood off and on this week (last seen on Thursday morning at 7:00 am) at the corner of NW 85th Street and 30th Ave NW feeding on some remaining birch catkins. Additionally I saw a group of 4 at Marsh Island in the WA Park Arboretum on Friday, March 22, 2002 around 11:45 am.

Lastly, yesterday (Mar 23) a male Rufous Hummingbird zinged by my head while I was out in my garden, apparently on its way to some flowering currents a few yards away. Hard to believe spring is here when one saw redpolls among snow covered branches just a few days earlier!
