I also forgot to say that I've seen the same thing as you when it comes to
h. sparrows beating up on starlings for just pulled worms etc. It's quite
funny to watch. I also saw a juv. starling get very, very ruffed up by a
robin. Robins are fierce buggers with a sharp beak.
