I was out briefly this evening at two of the Columbia NWR farm units, and
the crane numbers are much greater than last weekend. Along Roads 15.1 SE
and E SE, about 3500 cranes were using the fields. Off Road B SE (Corfu
Road), closer to 5000. Most of those cranes, along with about 20,000 geese
and 50,000 ducks, flew over us as we watched along Corfu Road between 6:00
and 6:45 pm this evening. Quite a sight, not to mention sound.
