Hi folks,

Saw this on the Bird Band List, and thought that it might benefit someone on
our list who was looking for a way to spend the spring & summer
up-close-and-personal with birds! Please contact Dr. Ralph at the address
below.

Dear Colleagues,

Please share and post ... some very nice opportunities to work in beautiful
areas:

LANDBIRD RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES. Starting Immediately. The Redwood
Sciences Laboratory is seeking enthusiastic individuals to participate in
our long-term landbird research. We have numerous projects located from the
Redwood Coast near Arcata California, to the Shasta-Trinity National Forest
and South to Mendocino and Napa. We currently have positions ranging from
full-time paid wildlife biologist to entry-level internships depending on
qualifications. Applicants should have a keen interest in birds, natural
history and field biology. Applicants need good bird identification skills,
and passerine mist netting and banding experience. Depending on
qualifications, work can include mist netting, bird censuses, vegetation
surveys, data input, data analysis and other duties as required. To apply,
send cover letter, resume, and contact information for three former
supervisors immediately to KIM HOLLINGER (khollinger at fs.fed.us) and DR. C.
