directions, your fellow birdwatchers will appreciate it.

A lone TRI-COLORED BLACKBIRD was visiting a feeder in extreme western
Whitman Co WA on 4 May according to Tom and Diane Weber. The feeder is a
farm house along the Palouse River, about 1.25 miles west of the bridge in
Hooper on Old State Route 26. Also there was a single GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROW. WA DeLorme 55, B-7, T15N, R37E, Sec 34.

A CLARK'S GREBE was on West Medical Lake in Spokane Co WA on 1 May according
to Matthew Moskwik. Medical Lake is southwest of Spokane. WA DeLorme 88,
D-3.

The COMMON GRACKLE reported about 8 weeks ago near Yakima, Co WA by Denny
Granstrand is still present. On 4 May Brad Waggoner spied the bird in its
usual locale. To get to the spot from I-82 east of Yakima, take the Nob Hill
Blvd/Highway 24 exit off I-82. Go east about 2 miles, passing the K-Mart on
the right with a traffic light at the highway. The next traffic light will
be Birchfield Road. Turn right and go south 1.3 miles to the little farm
with corrals with llamas and horses. WA DeLorme 51, D-5.

A ROSS'S GOOSE was on the sewage ponds near Genesee, Latah Co ID this past
week according to Terry and Christine Gray. The band on its neck indicates
the bird was banded in 1999 at Queen Maud Gulf Migratory Bird Sanctuary in
Nunavut, Canada. Keeping it company were up to 3 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, a few
WILSON'S PHALAROPES, and up to 7 AMERICAN AVOCETS. Take Cow Creek Road east
from US 95 at milepost 329.8 and go about 0.25 mile to the pond. ID DeLorme
58, C-1.

Bob Flores in Othello, Adams Co WA wins this week's sparrow contest. Bob had
2 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS and a couple of GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS at his
feeder this past week. Another GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Nancy
Miller at her Viola, Latah Co ID feeder.

A most likely first Latah Co ID record, a GREAT EGRET is persisting in the
new arboretum on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow. First seen on 27
Apr by Alli Snaethorsson, the bird was still present today. The arboretum is
just east of the UI golf course, and south of the Kibbie Dome.
