Tweets --
Although it was mighty cold this morning at 5:30 AM, I wandered over
to Narbeck after work. So glad I did because my patience (I was literally
frozen in place) paid off with a Sora who came within eight feet of my feet.
This is the first SORA I have seen (or heard) at Narbeck.
Other birds at Narbeck this morning:
Bullock's Oriole (2, putting on a great display for each other and me)
Western Tanagers
Yellow warblers
Yellow-rumped warblers
Orange-crowned warblers
Bushtits
Marsh wrens
Bewick's wrens
Spotted towhees
Am. goldfinches
ruby-crowned kinglets
black-capped chickadees
Mallards (with younglings)
Canada geese (with younglings)
Cowbirds
Brown creepers
Downy woodpeckers
Common yellowthroat
Song sparrows
White-crowned sparrows
Juncos
(several birds whose song I could not identify nor find)

New observation of the week: A robin's nest under one of the
footbridges. I thought robins always nested in trees, relatively high up. I
saw the robin on the nest, on one of the bridge leg ledges. I was very
surprised (you can tell I am still a newbie). Is this Robin nesting location
familiar to other Tweets?
