Sightings for Monday, May 6th

At Cecil Green at UBC were a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD, an ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD, a
CASSIN'S FINCH, 4 WARBLING VIREOS, a CASSIN'S VIREO, a WHITE-THROATED
SPARROW, an OSPREY and 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS.

At Blackie Spit was a LONG-BILLED CURLEW. Nearby, at Crescent Beach were 3
MARBLED GODWITS. Also in Surrey were several BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS.

At Lower McKay Creek in North Vancouver were 2 GREEN HERONS nest building.

Out of town, in Hope, a bird fitting the description of a RUSTIC BUNTING
was
seen on the northeast area of the Hope Airport, near the orange windsock off
Yale Road.

In a late report for May 4th, in a green belt in Port Coquitlam were a
SWAINSON'S THRUSH, a WARBLING VIREO and a WILSON'S WARBLER.

Sunday, May 5th

At Cecil Green at UBC was a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD, WILSON'S WARBLERS, a
PACIFIC-SLOPE FLYCATCHER, a HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, a WARBLING VIREO and seen
from the cliff tops was a PARASITIC JAEGER.

Another CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was located at Lost Lagoon, Stanley Park.

At Queen Elizabeth Park was a NASHVILLE WARBLER.

There were 7 WHIMBRELS at Elgin Heritage Park in Surrey. Also in Surrey, at
Blackie Spit were 2 PURPLE MARTINS, 4 WHIMBRELS, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, a
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVER and a PEREGRINE FALCON.

Saturday, May 4th

At Iona today were a PEREGRINE FALCON, a MERLIN, 5 SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS
and 6 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS.

Friday, May 3rd

At Burnaby Mountain Park, 2 CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRDS were present. Another
CALLIOPE was seen at Cecil Green near UBC. At Queen Elizabeth Park were 2
WILSON'S WARBLERS, a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, a WARBLING VIREO and a BARRED
OWL.

At Iona were 6 SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS and 2 BLUE-WINGED TEALS. Another 6
SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS were seen at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen. There were 2
TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES at Lily Point, Point Roberts.

Near Lougheed Mall was a BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER.

Sightings for Thursday, May 2nd

A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was discovered on the west side of Queen Elizabeth
Park.

At Beach Grove Lagoon in Tsawwassen were 3 SEMI-PALMATED PLOVERS. In
Abbotsford, in the Matsqui Trail Area were 2 GREEN HERONS and a FRANKLIN'S
GULL.
