Rob, Tweets,
I noticed a significant change in the volume of sugar water being
consumed by the rufous hummers this week. It is now at ~1 quart/day. I
was wondering if rufous hummer adults on the nest consume more protein
(insects) while incubating and then move to carbohydrates (sugar) while
feeding nestlings and resuming reproductive activities. Anybody know?
