Hello Tweets,

Today I(Patrick)walked the trails around the TCC Campus natural area again
for two hours as yesterday, but between 9am-11am with less songbird diversity
than yesterday. I managed to locate several additional species that were not
observed yesterday, but was unable to locate the Nashville Warbler and
several of the otrher species found yesterday. The best highlights at this
location were a single adult white-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROW observed
alone in thick brambles(being my second record for this location),along with
a single male BULLOCK'S ORIOLE,and two roaming flocks of Western Tanagers
containing a total of 11 birds.

In the afternoon my mother and I went back to the mitigated wetland east of
Alderton along 96th Street East, but were unable to locate many of the
shorebird species found yesterday such as the breeding plumaged Semipalmated
Sandpiper, Pectoral Sandpiper, and Semipalmated Plover during our visit
between 2:45pm-4pm. Shorebird diversity in general was greatly decreased
compared to yesterday with far less "peeps", but a single LESSER YELLOWLEGS
was an addition, and the two Solitary Sandpipers in breeding plumage still
remain at this location.

A list of notable highlights from a walk at the TCC Campus included:

1 male Ring-necked Pheasant
1 Virginia Rail(heard only in the wetland in the center portion of the
natural area)
9 Bushtits
2 Hermit Thrushes
4 Orange-crowned Warblers
2 Yellow-rumped "Audubon's"Warblers
1 pair of Wilson's Warblers
11 Western Tanagers(high count)
1 singing Black-headed Grosbeak
1 Lincoln's Sparrows
1 adult white-striped WHITE-THROATED SPARROW
11 adult Golden-crowned Sparrows
1 male BULLOCK'S ORIOLE(unusual for location)
2 Evening Grosbeaks

A list of species noted at the mitigated wetland east of Alderton includes:

2 pair of Wood Ducks
1 male Cinnamon Teal
2 pair of Northern Shovelers
1 pair of Gadwall
3 female Buffleheads
2 pair of Killdeer(with 7+ young observed)
1 LESSER YELLOWLEGS
2 Solitary Sandpipers
1 pair of Spotted Sandpipers in breeding plumage(also observed yesterday)
9 Western Sandpipers
27 Least Sandpipers
1 Vaux's Swift
1 Northern Rough-winged Swallow
1 Orange-crowned Warbler

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
