Natalie and I took a quick trip to China Lake Park along S. 19th street
here in Tacoma this evening, and had a couple of decent finds mixed in
with the abundant Barn and Violet-Green Swallows flying over the field
and the ponds and wetlands.

1 male Western Tananger
1 male Olive-Sided Flycatcher
mostly male Red-winged Blackbirds
1 Spotted Towhee
1 female Pied-billed Grebe

For those not familiar with China Lake Park, it sits alongside Highway 16
on the west side of the highway, separated from the busy road by a buffer
of fir trees. It is also less than half a mile from the trails at Tacoma
Community College, where Patrick Sullivan has been noting some
interesting migrants over the last couple of days.
