Quick view of my nesting birds in the yard:

chickadees -- have had them nest twice in the same year over the last 6
years
it is not too late to put up an appropriate box
for them


Since it's now May, am I likely to get any new
tenants this season, or is it too late?

Yes. A proper box in the right place might still attract birds.
Also, even if they don't nest this year, they may come back next
yeart, knowing something was available.

Also, which birds do I stand the best chance of attracting?
Common
visitors to our cooler clime in Sammamish include chickadees ABSOLUTELY
jays -- a definite possiblity
robins -- absolutely
creepers -- i wish
finches -- not me, but you might
flickers -- possible,
downy woodpeckers --possible,
thrushes -- depends on species
and towhees -- have had them in the past
but we're pretty urban now. Ocassionally here them, but nesting, nope.

Our neighborhood is quite shaded with mature trees,
so we may have a shot at owls.

Please don' shoot the owls! :)
