Tweets,
Saw my first Willow Flycatcher this morning on my usual bird
walk to pick-up the paper. Had an Olive-sided Flycatcher last Thursday and a
Pacific Slope FLycatcher about 2 weeks ago so the Summer birds are just about
all here. Yesterday at Point-No-Point, had a Pectoral Sandpiper in the
wetland and I tried to talk it into a Sharptail but it just did'nt work.
Stopping at the Port Gamble Cemetary there were numbers of Yellow-rump,
Wilson's and Yellow Warblers figiting through the Bigleaf maples, along with
2 beautiful male Western Tanagers. Also, the Osprey nest at Cape Foulweather
has the female on eggs, it appears. A good day of birding with great weather!
Good birding,
Doug Watkins
