Subject: Another Pectoral Sandpiper (3 Crabs, Sequim)

Well, I can't match the Sullivans for numbers, but there was a single fine alternate plumaged PECTORAL SANDPIPER at the pond near the 3-Crabs restaurant, Sequim. The rufous on the crown and face were just a little more pronounced than Sibley shows, and the supercilium was not too restricted behind the eye, but otherwise exactly as expected (sharp demarcation of streaked breast, behavior, call etc.).

There were 7 RED KNOT on the mudflats - 3,3,and 1. Is it my faulty memory or do Knots tend to hang out in threes? Also goodish numbers of RUDDY TURNSTONES and SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS.

Gotta love these clear sunny days with lots of shorebirds!
