This is a little belated but I just had to share the sighting of a life
mammal- Mountain Beaver! Cute little guy, it was chomping away at some
salmonberry shrubs near the Lacey library on Friday morning. It was quite
approachable, probably owing to his limited sight. Also present were high
numbers of Black-headed Grosbeaks, W. Tanagers and Wilson's Warblers.
