Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday May 16. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

On May 14 a male COMMON GRACKLE was in Fields. That day late GOLDEN-CROWNED,
WHITE-THROATED, and HARRIS'S SPARROWS were at Malheur NWR. A BLACK-CHINNED
and a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD were at Headquarters.

A bird identified as a PLUMBEOUS VIREO has been at Mt. Tabor park in
southeast Portland during the week.

Migrations continue with an AMERICAN and a PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER, two
BAIRD'S and two PECTORAL SANDPIPERS on the North Spit of Coos Bay May 15.
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were reported during the week at Fern Ridge Reservoir,
Ankeny NWR, and Sauvie Island. On May 15 a LONG-TAILED JAEGER and 18 RED
KNOTS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River.

On May 14 three LAZULI BUNTINGS and three WESTERN KINGBIRDS were at Powell
Butte Park near Gresham. The GRASSHOPPER SPARROW continues to be seen near
Morgan Lake in Baskett Slough NWR. WILSON'S PHALAROPES and BLACK-NECKED
STILTS are also being seen there. WILSON'S PHALAROPES, STILTS, and BLACK
TERNS are now at Fern Ridge Reservoir.
