The Kite Day at Pt. Robinson on Maury Island (across from Des Moines and
Federal Way) turned out to be better birding than I thought this afternoon.
First, I happened to look up to see four Whimbrel flying northbound past the
point. Just before left I saw a black bird flying just off shore that I
figured was just another crow but took another close look and there was the
long orange red bill of a Black Oystercatcher.

The Harris's Sparrow that was present here left a week and half ago.
