This morning, May 19, I saw a LARK SPARROW (bold head pattern, clear breast w/central spot, large white tail corners) on the Concrete-Sauk Valley Road. It was 10.4 miles south of the junction of the Concrete-Sauk Valley Road and Highway 20 (DeLorme p. 96 A3). It was foraging alone on the edge of the road beside a small meadow. I found it at 10:30 and watched it for about 10 minutes until it flew out of sight.
