On May 10, Laurie Ness observed a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE in her North
Richland yard. On May 18 she had both PACIFIC-SLOPE and OLIVE-SIDED
FLYCATCHERS and a WESTERN TANAGER.

Mike & Mary Lilga reported a GREAT EGRET over the Battelle buildings in
North Richland on May 14, a CHIPPING SPARROW in their North Richland yard
on May 15, a COMMON NIGHTHAWK on May 19 and a CASSIN'S VIREO on May 20.

On May 15, Barbara Dove reported an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN at the Van
Giesen Bridge crossing the Yakima River in West Richland. On May 19, Ernie
Crediford also saw a pelican on the Yakima River.

Patty Pollari has also had many migrants in her West Richland yard. On May
15 she had her first BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, on May 17 a female EVENING
GROSBEAK, and on May 18 a WESTERN TANAGER. She also saw a GREAT EGRET
along the Yakima River.

On May 16, Jack & Murrel Dawson and Nancy LaFramboise saw a BONAPARTE'S
GULL and a BLACK TERN at the Yakima Delta. 1 - 3 BLACK TERNS were seen
there on the 17th and 18th.

Also on May 16, Steve Weiss saw 5 VAUX'S SWIFTS over his North Richland yard.

Bob and Pat Woodley walked Groves Park behind WSU and found the following
birds on May 19: 1 SPOTTED SANDPIPER, 1 WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, CASSIN'S and
WARBLING VIREOS, YELLOW AND YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, 1 WESTERN TANAGER, 1
BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, and 1 CHIPPING SPARROW. At their North Richland
home they had CALLIOPE & RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS as well as an ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER (May 17 - 19).
