Just a short note to say that CEDAR WAXWINGS have descended upon Olympia
like a plague...bringing that ear-shattering-ultrasonic-noise song they
sing! They are driving me crazy. Anyways, the past three days I've seen
them around NE Olympia and parts of Lacey. Saturday I saw a flock of 12 RED
CROSSBILLS in the Woodland Square Loop area in Lacey. Also had high numbers
of TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS, BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS, and WESTERN TANAGERS at St.
Martin's campus. Had my first female W. TANAGER of spring on Saturday at
Oak ST and Fairview in NE Oly. Also one SPOTTED SANDPIPER in East Bay.
