Ive seen both tree and violet green swallows using nestboxes placed for
purple martins over saltwater. In fact, every martin nestbox cluster
that Ive observed since 1999 over saltwater has had either tree or
violet greens or both nesting. Last year in Snohomish county a pair of
subadult martins successfully fledged young from a nest built over dead
tree swallow nestlings.

HI ALL:
I thought I saw a TREE Swallow coming out of a nest box for martins
placed OVER SALTWATER. Has anyone else seen Tree Swallows use nest boxes

that are OVER saltwater??
