I just wanted to mention that there is a slightly cheaper (about $40)
alternative to the 3130 that accepts the same mounting plates. I
believe the Bogen part number is 3407; Eagle Optics carries it for use
with the Bogen/Manfrotto car window mount. It is not even close to
being as nice as the 3130, but it works well enough for the limited
times I need the window mount. I would never suggest it for use on a
tripod.

One other point... My scope has an angled head, and I worried how
well this would work with the window mount. However, since this scope
can be rotated so that the angle can point right or left I think this
type of scope is actually more effective than a straight one would be.
When pointing toward the extremes (toward the front and rear) I can
just turn the scope and have the eyepiece at a more advantagous angle,
rather than trying to climb onto the dash or into the back seat.
