Featured bird is BANK SWALLOW.

Sightings for Tuesday, May 21

A BANK SWALLOW was seen feeding over the Iona Ponds. Also at the ponds were
2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and a female WILSON'S PHALAROPE.
Seen on the mud flats from the Iona Jetty were 5 WHIMBREL.

A MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER was seen with other warbler species in the NW
corner of QE Park.

A TURKEY VULTURE was seen soaring near the intersection of 72nd & 124th in
Surrey.

Monday, May 20

A WHIMBREL and 20+ COMMON TERNS were observed at Blackie Spit.

At Iona were 8 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 5 males & 3 females, along with a SORA.

Sunday, May 19

Reported from Iona were an AMERICAN BITTERN, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, a
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, 1 PECTORAL SANDPIPER and a female AMERICAN KESTREL.

On the morning walk at Reifel the following were seen: 19 CEDAR WAXWINGS, 3
AMERICAN BITTERN, 2 adult SANDHILL CRANES with 2 chicks and the parent GREAT
HORNED OWLS with their fledged young.

Near the foot of 104th at Boundary Bay was a RED KNOT.

A late THAYER'S GULL was seen along the Tsawwassen Jetty.

At Vancouver's Jericho Park 7 REDHEADS were observed on the pond.

On the way to Grant Narrows Park 6 TURKEY VULTURES were seen soaring along
Neaves Rd. At Grant Narrows near the Nature Dike tower was a CHIPPING
SPARROW. Also seen along the trail were a NASHVILLE WARBLER and the arrival
EASTERN KINGBIRD.

Sightings for Saturday, May 18

A bird fitting the description of a THRASHER was discovered singing at the
top of a tree near Beach Grove Park in Tsawwassen. The bird was observed
around 10:00 AM in the area north of the Park proper. An extensive search
failed to relocate this bird.

Six BLACK TERNS were seen at Grant Narrows RP in Pitt Meadows. The birds
were seen flying over the marsh south of the Nature Dike approx. ? the
distance from the dike entrance and the observation tower. Also seen along
the trail was a male PALM WARBLER.

At Jericho Park a male BLACKPOLL WARBLER was observed in the company of a
flock of Yellow-rumps near the wooden bridge. Also on the pond at Jericho
were 6 REDHEADS.

An additional 4 REDHEADS were reported from the Iona ponds. Also at the
ponds were 2 WILSON'S PHALAROPE.

Seen near the foot 112th at Boundary Bay was a WHIMBREL and 4 CASPIAN TERN.

A singing male LAZULI BUNTING was seen near the old farm buildings on the
Coquitlam side of Colony Farm RP.

At Lighthouse Park in West Vancouver was a BLACK OYSTERCATCHER.
