Tweeters,

Occurrence dates of Harris's Sparrow in B.C. may be useful for
comparison with those in Washington. Campbell et al. (The Birds of
B.C., Volume 4, 2001) report that Harris's Sparrows occur "regularly"
in coastal areas from September 21 to May 24, and in the interior from
September 12 to May 22. In the Vancouver area, they are rare but
regular in winter and in migration, but are usually gone by May 10.

Campbell et al. also list 4 June records and 3 August records (no July
records!) from scattered localities in southern B.C., although I'm not
sure how well documented these are. Certainly they are anomalous,
because the species is not known to breed any closer to B.C. than
northern Great Slave Lake and northeastern Saskatchewan.

I hope this info is useful.
