At west end of Lower Crab Creek we saw a number of things we didn't have
time to
i.d. Yellow Rump(Audubon, Myrtle?) and various flycatchers(which we probly
couldnt i.d. anyway)..also sparrow size bird with 3 dark patches 'patches' on
top behind neck and on either side above wings..rest of body buff with
striped face(in Potholes State park)..Water Pipit?...
also a large blackish hawk or owl with a white wing bar about 1/3 in on top
of each wing...also what we thought might be a female Sage Grouse with 2
chicks moving
through sage brush with no grassy fields nearby..gold color with black
mottling..
do Ringnecked Pheasants nest in Sageland?
