Hi folks,

There are plans to cut down an 85 year old cedar near the Kiwanis Heronry,
as soon as this weekend - the permit could be issued as soon as tomorrow.
There are fears this could disturb the adults and leave the chicks
unprotected. If you're interested in writing our City of Seattle officials
respond and I'll forward you the sample letter from KHHH (Kiwanis Heron
Habitat Helpers) and a list of addresses to send it to.

According to KHHH there are 36 active nests, with two to four (their
numbers) chicks per nest so a lot is at stake.
