If you are on campus or miss any of these at the Fill, the weed/shrub/tree
areas along the north edge of the Montlake Cut behind the UW Med. Center
have been rather full of birds this week, most easily seen at close range.

Late morning Monday had the following in 30 minutes or so:

Anna's Hummingbird
Western Tanager (2 or 3)
Warbling Vireo (2, or one all over the place)
Cassin's or Hutton's Vireo
Western Peewee
Yellow-Rumped Warbler
Golden-Crowned Sparrow

And the more usual suspects:
Canada Goose
Mallard
Gadwall
Great Blue Heron (near the salmon hatchery, and flying over)
Red-tailed hawk (just passing over)
unID gulls
Crow
Robin
Starling
Bushtit
House Finch
White-crowned Sparrow
Song Sparrow

much the same list seen Tuesday same time, except no non-warbling vireo,
no warbler or hawk, and twice as many tanagers.

Surprisingly, no Spotted Towhee seen/heard in this area. It looks like
just the place to me...
