If anyone is interested, yesterday, 5/22, while doing a Birds of Forested
Landscapes survey, Stu MacRobbie, Judy Mullally, and I had two lovely
Red-eyed Vireos respond at close range to the CD playbacks that are part of
the survey. It was on the trestle of the old bridge in Railroad Bridge
Park, in the riparian forest of the Dungeness River west of Sequim, near the
Dungeness River Audubon Center. This is the site where a male Red-eyed
Vireo sang persistently in 1999 and parents fed chick(s) in 2000. We did
not see or hear Red-eyed Vireos there last year.
