Unfortunately my wife and I will be moving to Washington DC in the next
couple of months. No jobs here; job in DC. So this Sunday there will be an
open house at our house as we put it on the market.
We live within walking distance of Pine Lake surrounded by woods. Pine Lark
Park is across the road from us and Discovery Elementary School across the
other street. I have had 5 species of woodpeckers in one day. Lately two
species of empidonax have been calling. It's a fine birding area. We are
surrounded by trees. I have had the great experience of swimming in Pine Lake
while watching an Osprey dive in. I have also watched River Otters playing on
our deck.
Our address is 22730 SE 23rd Place, Sammamish, Wa. We are right off of 228.
Actually if you turn into Pine Lark Park you have to veer right onto our
private road.
If you come to the OPen House on Sunday (11:30 to 4:30) Karen and I won't be
here but make sure you take a look at the library in the bird room.
It will be a long time before we have such a fine house in such a fine
setting. But DC will be a great place for me next April as I get my doctorate
in Educational Technology.
And I haven't yet been able to photograph a cuckoo.
