Hi, Tweets!

Took advantage of the low tide this morning to walk from Edmonds toward
Richmond Beach and check out the Purple Martin houses on the pilings between
Point Edwards and Point Wells. When I got within viewing distance, a pair
of Martins was dive-bombing a crow near the pilings. After a few minutes
they chased off the intruder and sat on top of one of the boxes briefly,
providing me with a great view. The male sang for a little while, and then
both flew off to the North.

Many thanks to Kevin Li and associates for all the diligent work installing
and monitoring the martin boxes & gourds in the Puget Sound area!

Good birding to all,
Anne Winskie
