I was finishing a somewhat "quiet" loop at the Montlake Fill on
Saturday evening about 8pm when a yellow flash caught my eye. The bird was
sighted about 50yds away perched on a metal post just to the south of the
first pond on the trail from the horticultural center. Observed for
about 5 minutes as it flew from post to post and then onto a line that
staked a new planting area. Just before it flew southeast out of sight,
the bird dove down into the grass to pick up something. It was
partially obscured from my vision, but it looked like either some grass or a
worm?
