Sightings for Saturday, May 25th

At the southwest corner of Queen Elizabeth Park, a DUSKY FLYCATCHER was
heard calling.

Seen at the Iona ponds were a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE and 8 YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS.

Friday, May 24th

At Iona was a PARASITIC JAEGER from the south jetty. At the ponds were 4
WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 2 SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPERS and 3 BULLOCK'S ORIOLES.

Seen on Neaves Road in Pitt Meadows were a WESTERN KINGBIRD and 2 EASTERN
KINGBIRDS.

Thursday, May 23rd

From the Iona south jetty, 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS were seen. At the Iona ponds
were 2 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 2 SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPERS and a BANK SWALLOW.

Seen at Ambleside Park, West Vancouver were a GREEN HERON and a REDHEAD.

A TURKEY VULTURE was seen from Maplewood Conservation Area in North
Vancouver.

Wednesday, May 22nd

A WESTERN KINGBIRD was seen near the intersection of Neaves & McNeil Rd. in
Pitt Meadows.

Out in Abottsford at Wilband Creek Park were 3 pair of REDHEADS.

At the Iona ponds were a male WILSON'S PHALAROPE, 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS,
and
a SORA. Seen in Iona Bay were a RED KNOT and a GLAUCOUS GULL. Eight
PARASITIC JAEGERS were observed from the Jetty tip.

Golfers at Langara Golf Course in Vancouver had 2 SANDHILL CRANES drop in
for a short visit around 3:00 in the afternoon.

Tuesday, May 21st

A late EURASIAN WIGEON was seen on the pond at the Nico Wynd Golf Course in
Surrey.

A BANK SWALLOW was seen feeding over the Iona Ponds. Also at the ponds
were
2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and a female WILSON'S PHALAROPE.

Seen on the mud flats from the Iona Jetty were 5 WHIMBREL.

A MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER was seen with other warbler species in the NW
corner of QE Park.

A TURKEY VULTURE was seen soaring near the intersection of 72nd & 124th in
Surrey.
