Today I was able to relocate the Avocet with 4 other fellow birders late
this afternoon. It was feeding in the extreme rear of a fresh water pond
seen from the north dike trail. The pond is west of the off limits trail
that connects the twin barns to the north dike, and north dike trail.
That's the best I know how to describe the area. Also found in the pond
where a Pectoral Sandpiper and a Wilson's Phalarope. At the reach we
located the Common Terns that Steve Nord had.

As for the Aleutian Canada Goose. After reading Jon Anderson post, it
was an easy error to make. It appeared to have all the right
characteristics from what I saw, but did not spend much time on the
goose. A complete white collar, lighter breast color than a Cackler, and
it appeared to be bigger. An illusion. I should have used the term
"possible", but, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
