What a pleasant surprise! When Brendan and I first observed the bird,
we discussed the possibility of its setting up a territory as we noticed its
persistent chasing of other birds in a very territorial fashion. It was also
extremely vocal, which led to our seeing it on four separate "check-ups" to
see if it was still around. We also considered the possibility of there
being two birds, as there were a couple occasions when it seemed the
gnatcatcher was nearly in two places at once. It all looks very promising!
Just out of curiosity, are there any breeding records for Blue-grey
Gnatcatchers in Washington?

Thanks!
