Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday May 30. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls at

A possible SPOTTED REDSHANK was reported May 24 at a private wetland in
North Albany. It could not be relocated. An OVENBIRD was at the north side
of the D River in Lincoln City May 27. A SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was near
Cape Blanco May 23. A probable BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER was near the EE
Wilson SWA May 24.

On May 24 a singing NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was at the Rotary Club Park in
McMinnville. Take North Baker Street from downtown McMinnville to 27th. Turn
Right and park. Walk west into the woods to the wetland.

A number of unusual birds were in southeast Oregon during the Memorial Day
weekend. At Malheur NWR Headquarters were a bright INDIGO BUNTING, a
MAGNOLIA WARBLER, a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, a PLUMBEOUS VIREO, 2 CATBIRDS,
and a LEAST FLYCATCHER. A SPOTTED DOVE was reported near krumbo Reservoir,
and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE at Benson Pond. A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK and a
MOCKINGBIRD were at Frenchglen.

A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, a MOCKINGBIRD, and a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE were at
Fields. A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and a NORTHERN PARULA were at Cottonwood
Creek. Four COMMON GRACKLES and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE were along Van Horn Creek
north of Denio.

On May 23 a SNOWY EGRET was at Yaquina Bay. A FRANKLIN'S GULL was there May
25. A FRANKLIN'S GULL was at the mouth of the Necanicum River in Seaside May
25. That day a NASHVILLE WARBLER was at the Warrenton Sewage Ponds. A WILLET
was at the South Jetty of the Columbia River May 24.

ON May 22 an ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was at the Sandy River Delta east of
Troutdale. By May 28 several RED-EYED VIREOS and an EASTERN KINGBIRD had
arrived there. Two WESTERN KINGBIRDS were also there.

A male TRICOLORED BLACKBIRD was back at the Fernhill Wetlands in Forest
Grove May 26. On May 22 at least 30 REDHEADS were on the Mollala Sewage
Ponds. A BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON was at Ankeny NWR May 27. A ROCK WREN was
back on Pigeon Butte in Finley NWR May 26.

On May 23 two male EURASIAN WIGEON and a TUNDRA SWAN were on Stinking Water
Pond along Highway 78 east of Burns. A COMMON TERN was in Union County near
Union May 25.
