Rare Bird Alert for ALDER FLYCATCHER. Other featured birds are LEAST and
DUSKY FLYCATCHER and LAZULI BUNTING

Sightings for Thursday, May 30th

At Grant Narrows Park in Pitt Meadows, there were the following birds: An
ALDER FLYCATCHER, an AMERICAN REDSTART and a DUSKY FLYCATCHER. Nearby, at a
bend in the road leading to Grant Narrows was a GRAY CATBIRD. In the Pitt
Meadows area were a total of 12 TURKEY VULTURES. A further 5 TURKEY VULTURES
were seen at Kerr Street and Marine Drive in Vancouver.

In a late report from Cheam Wetlands for May 29th, there was a LEAST
FLYCATCHER, an EASTERN KINGBIRD and a LAZULI BUNTING on Seabird Island.

Wednesday, May 29th

At Iona were 5 WILSON'S PHALAROPES at the ponds, a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE and at
the north end of the corridor between the inner and outer ponds, there was a
VEERY. Also here was a DUSKY FLYCATCHER.

At the northwest side of Queen Elizabeth Park was a LAZULI BUNTING. Another
2 LAZULI BUNTINGS were at Gunn Road, west of Mission.

Tuesday, May 28th

An OVENBIRD was seen and heard at Burnaby Mountain Park at 6:30 am.

In a correction from May 27th, at Lighthouse Park, Point Roberts was a bird
thought to possibly be a BLACK-THROATED SPARROW. Further confirmation is
necessary.

There were 3 PARASITIC JAEGERS from the Iona south jetty. Also at Iona were
a RING-NECKED DUCK, 5 WILSON'S PHALAROPES and 3 REDHEADS.

Another REDHEAD was at Ambleside Park, West Vancouver as well as an
OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER.

Two BLACK SWIFTS were seen over Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver.

Monday, May 27th

There were 2 PURPLE MARTINS at Blackie's Spit.

Seen in Ioco was an OSPREY. Another OSPREY was seen at 144th Street and
104th Avenue in Surrey.

There were 3 EASTERN KINGBIRDS at the Pitt Lake nature trail.

In late reports for May 26th, there were 4 CEDAR WAXWINGS at Brunswick
Point. Also seen were 2 SANDHILL CRANES flying between Burns Bog and
Boundary Bay.
