HI ALL:
Weidensaul talks about the Louisiana Ivory-billed Woodpecker search and
on page 64 states: " Attention was also rekindled in Cuba. Though
overshadowed by the Pearl River sightings, reports had emerged around the
same time that a few ivorybills might still survive in the mountains of
southeastern Cuba. Secrecy was again the watchword; Americans from Audubon
and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology were quietly helping the Cubans, but if
the birds were actually there, everyone was playing their cards very close
to the vest."
Has anyone heard anything about this??
