This is the Vancouver Bird Alert for Sunday June 9th, evening update,
sponsored in part by the Wild Birds Unlimited stores in Vancouver and North
Vancouver.

Rare bird alert continues for the YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO in Castlegar.

Species noted:

YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO (Castlegar, BC)
Short-eared Owl
Northern Shrike
Swamp Sparrow
Snow Bunting

Sightings for November 1

The YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was seen again this morning around 8:00 AM on
Waldie Island at Castlegar in the Kootenays. The bird has now been present
in this area for several weeks.

Seen at Colony Farm RP on the Port Coquitlam side were a NORTHERN SHRIKE & a
SHORT-EARED OWL being mobbed by numerous crows.

October 31

A SNOW BUNTING was seen on the Iona Jetty and a SWAMP SPARROW was seen along
the Iona/Sea Island Causeway. The bird was close to the Iona end of the
causeway.
