There is apparently something wierd going on the CHESTNUT-
COLLARED LONGSPURS this year....

The Lower Columbia Birders went on their first of the
month birding trip and turned up a Chestnut-collared
at the shorebird flats of the Soth Jetty of the Columbia
River. We all got good looks from as close as 3meters.
It was loosely associated with a single LAPLAND LONGSPUR
which allowed for many close comparisons.

I will write up a complete description with field
drawings later.

Also at the shorebird flats were at least 4 SNOW BUNTINGS,
2 MERLINS and a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK.

By my count this brings us to 4 Chestnut-collared Longspurs
in two weeks (and did Tim Rodenkirk see one, too?)
