Hi everyone,

There were 8 Snow Buntings at the same spot this
morning on Fir Island.

Also present on Fir Island was a VERY strange looking
falcon. Large-ish peregrine with very light gray back
and streaking on the front. It had a peregrine-like
malar but didn't have the full hooded appearence of a
peregrine and the malar was quite pale although not
nearly as pale as the back. Quite and interesting
bird. It was sitting in a snag near the corner of
Maupin Road and Fir Island Road, just east of where
Fir Island Road takes a big 90 degree turn to the
north. Beautiful bird, hopefully my photos will turn
out.
