Subject: White-crowned Sparrow subspecies identification

Today I wanted to bone up on separating gambelii and pugetensis, so I went to the ABA website that contains the index to "Birding" to find the article I thought I remembered seeing some years back on this subject.

I did find an article in Vol. XXVII: # 3 p.183, but it doesn't contain the specific illustrations/photographs that I thought I distinctly remembered.

Does anyone remember an article that contained illustrations/photographs of the backs of the heads of White-crowned Sparrows and which demonstrated differences that exist between some of the subspecies ?

Any help would be appreciated.
