They are found in Ocean Shores on the Christmas Bird Count...but not in groups. Last year we saw two approx 30 ft apart.

Do Common Snipes stay in Western Washington throughout the winter months? I saw six snipes feeding together along the edge of a pond yesterday morning. Since the field guide says they are usually solitary, I wondered whether they might be migration buddies or perhaps a family that has not yet dispersed.
