Subject: quick question about common snipes

The largest flock I've seen during fall migration contained at least
100 birds. They were in a disturbed field. 1 caught my eye then I got
the binos out and said holy smokes too many to count. Around the
Fraser Valley they turn into a ditch bird in winter. Usually shallow
ditches and the birds are solitary and few in numbers.
