Sorry for the late post, but Sunday about 1pm, Steve, Larry Heinz and I
observed an immature Red-shouldered hawk on the Bay Center Rd. The hawk
showed distinct brown barring, and the light/buff crescents on the wings were
well observed. We followed the bird quite a way down the road.

Eight Great Egrets were on the east side of the bridge across from Brady
Oysters.

Looked for snow buntings and longspurs at Midway Beach about 3pm, but there
was a lot of motorized activity and only a few meadowlarks were seen. We did
see lots of longspur tracks, however.

Today at Rochester High School outside one of the office windows was a
Wilson's Snipe. A couple of us got some good photos. The snipe was very
much out in the open and seemed very content to be poking along in the lawn.
