I suggested crows from my experience in Vancouver, B.C. I work on the 19th
floor of an office tower in Vancouver's central business district and crows
are relatively common among the buildings, often well above my eye level.
Groups of them perching on the parapet of Royal Centre (36 stories up) is
not that unusual (except when the resident Peregrine is cruising the area).
One of the reasons I suggested crows is the manner of the flight. I have
noticed crows often do the diving, swooping and tumbling when they are on
their way to roost late in the day, whereas Starlings tend to have more
direct flight (at least until they get to the actual roost location). But I
never thought of Rock Doves. They do the swooping and tumbling all the time.
