Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This report
was made Thursday November 7. If you have anything to add call Harry Nehls

Since November 1 up to three CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPURS have been at the
mouth of the Necanicum River in Gearhart. On November 2 one was at the South
Jetty of the Columbia River and two on the North Spit of Coos Bay. LAPLAND
LONGSPURS were also at all three locations.

SNOW BUNTINGS made a remarkable appearance during the week with nine at the
South Jetty of the Columbia River, two at the North Jetty of the Siuslaw
River, one at the mouth of the Sandy River east of Portland, at the Fernhill
Wetlands in Forest Grove, on Marys Peak near Corvallis, on Mt. Pisgah near
Eugene, and at North Mountain Park in Ashland.

A CLAY-COLORED SPARROW and a PALM WARBLER were at Brookings November 2. A
HARRIS'S SPARROW arrived at a Coos Bay feeder November 4. A PALM WARBLER was
on the North Spit of Coos Bay November 1. A late BAIRD'S SANDPIPER was at
the mouth of the Necanicum River November 4. Two COMMON TERNS were over the
Warrenton Sewage Ponds November 2.

On November 3 three FERRUGINOUS HAWKS were reported from Ridgefield NWR. The
BLACK PHOEBE continues to be seen there. A BRANT was at the vanport Wetlands
in North Portland November 1 and one was on Sauvie Island November 4. A
RED-BREASTED MERGANSER was on Bybee Lake in North Portland November 3.
Eleven MONK PARAKEETS were at their nest at the Portland Airport Maintenance
Building November 3. On November 4 a male ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was in
Milwaukie. On November 3 a gray phase GYRFALCON was at the Fernhill
Wetlands.

On November 3 a SAY'S PHOEBE was north of Brownsville. A SURF SCOTER was at
Fern Ridge Reservoir October 31. A TRUMPETER SWAN was there November 3.

On November 4 a LONG-TAILED DUCK and a SURF SCOTER were at the south end of
Upper Klamath Lake. On November 3 a male WHITE-WINGED SCOTER and a TRUMPETER
SWAN were on Bully Creek Reservoir near Vale.

On October 31 a flock of GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were in the Grande Ronde
Valley near Union. On November 5 six TREE SPARROWS and a large flock of 120
GRAY PARTRIDGE were in the Valley.
